What is social intelligence?
Ability to get along with people in general. Social intelligence is essential for unlocking the skills of effective communication, dialogue, and teamwork to create an optimal and productive environment. Social intelligence relates to how a person recognizes, understands and responds to another person’s emotions and feelings, and how they build and maintain their relationships.Listening, showing empathy to others, sharing, communicating, resolving conflict and maintaining healthy relationships are all indications that a person has strong social intelligence.

There is a strong connection between emotional and social intelligence. Building these skills in childhood provides an important foundation for good mental health throughout a child’s life and increases their chances of having lasting, healthy relationships with those around them.
What is emotional intelligence?
Emotional intelligence refers to someone’s ability to recognize, understand and manage their emotions. People with good emotional intelligence have strong
self-awareness: they can articulate and regulate their feelings and they understand how their emotions can affect their behavior and their thinking, especially in stressful situations. Emotional intelligence helps you build stronger relationships, succeed at school and work, and achieve your career and personal goals. It can also help you to connect with your feelings, turn intention into action, and make informed decisions about what matters most to you.
How does it benefit a parent?
As a parent, you have a responsibility for encouraging your child to develop his intelligence. This means, of course, academic intelligence but that’s not the only type of intelligence that matters. Emotional intelligence is defined as a person’s ability to express and manage feelings appropriately, while respecting the feelings of others. It’s a set of skills that children can begin learning at any age.
